I love this -- How do you get your scars to look so... well, scar-like?

Thanks! These scars aren't the best I've done, but it's all the same idea. Depending on the type, just paint it like a groove in the skin with raised white/red tissue around it. If you want an idea of how it should look, you can try drawing the lines for the scars and then using one of the bevel/emboss tools to see how the light falls. It always looks better if you paint it, but it's good as a guide! Practice, practice, practice ^^

I've been drawing with a tablet for a little less than a year now, and haven't really experimented with PhotoShop, I use open Canvas. Haven't played around with the light/gradient tools much, and it may not even have an emboss tool for all I know. But perhaps this means it is time to start getting the hang of PS. I've heard of it being the "best" for painting.
